Scope of this policy
This policy covers information collected through Richards Rooter and Plumbing-owned websites where it is posted. It does not cover third-party platforms such as social media or vendor pages, or information collected by phone or in person. Use of third-party applications is governed by those applications’ terms, and we are not responsible for how information shared through them is used or disclosed.
Some information is personal — it can identify you — and some is not, such as cookie data. Additional privacy notices may supplement this policy on specific pages or to meet state or country requirements.
Your consent
By using this site you agree to the collection, use, disclosure and transfer of your information as described in this policy and any applicable privacy notices. If you do not agree, you may not use the site. This policy is part of the site’s Terms of Use.
Your choices
You can make choices about how your information is collected, used and disclosed, including opting out of cookies. You may be asked to set choices on the page where you provide information.
Do Not Track. California requires us to address Do Not Track signals; however, given industry uncertainty about their meaning, we cannot guarantee that such signals will be honored.
You can change previously expressed preferences, and ask to be removed from mailing lists, by contacting us.
This policy may change
We may update this policy or any privacy notice at any time without prior notice by posting the revised version on the site. Changes apply only to information collected after posting, and continued use of the site means you accept the revised terms.
Information we collect
Information you provide. Data you type, click or enter — for example when requesting service or sending a question — such as your name and contact details.
Information from social media. If you register or log in with a social media profile, the platform sends us information from that profile, which we treat like any other information you provide.
Browser and device information. Data sent automatically, such as IP address, operating system, browser name and version, visit date and time, and pages viewed. It is generally not personally identifiable alone but may be combined with other data.
Cookies and similar technologies. Used to track how visitors use the site, support site features and save settings, and personalize your experience and improve marketing, including targeted advertising. Rejecting cookies may limit site functionality.
Third-party cookies
Google Analytics helps us understand visitor engagement. You can download an opt-out add-on, though it does not stop information from reaching us.
Other third parties may place cookies to track behavior across websites or deliver targeted ads. You can opt out through an industry-developed website, although not all third parties participate. Opting out is browser- and device-specific, so you must repeat the steps on each; clearing cookies and adjusting browser settings may also help.
How we use your information
We use collected information to provide requested products, services and information; offer customer service and a personalized experience; contact you about your use of the site, special offers and relevant information, following your preferences; invite you to surveys and gather feedback; improve our content, usability, products, services and marketing; and support security, credit and fraud prevention.
Information may be shared with service providers, vendors and other companies that support our business — for technical services, usage analysis, ad measurement, customer service, payments and surveys. These parties must follow confidentiality obligations consistent with this policy.
How we share your information
Third-party vendors acting on our behalf, such as those who design or run the site, conduct surveys or support promotions.
Other site users. Content you post publicly can be read, collected or used by others, and we may use it in advertising, possibly without using your name or asking consent. Do not expect privacy for such content.
Social media platforms. If you use features that post site activity to social media, people with access to your profile may see those actions. We may also use social platforms for interest-based ads by converting your email address into a unique value a partner can match; we do not provide personal information to these platforms.
Corporate family and company locations, which may use information for their own marketing consistent with this policy.
Carefully selected business partners for their own marketing, such as contest sponsors. Where required by law, you will be offered an opt-in or opt-out choice first.
Aggregate or de-identified data about usage patterns, which is not personally identifiable.
Business transfers. Information may transfer to a successor organization in a sale, merger, asset liquidation or transfer of site operations; the successor must follow this policy and your existing preferences.
Legal and protective disclosures — to comply with law, court orders or subpoenas; to prevent or investigate crimes such as fraud or identity theft; to protect site security; to enforce terms of use; or to protect rights, property or safety.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable precautions suited to the sensitivity of the data. We cannot guarantee the security of internet transmissions or stored data and are not responsible for security breaches beyond our reasonable control.
Children’s privacy
Users must be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and ask those under 13 not to use the site.
Links to other websites
This policy applies only to company-owned sites where it is posted. External links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement. We are not responsible for third-party data practices — review any third-party privacy policy before providing information.
Access to your information
You may request to review, correct or update personal information you provided through the site by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time or the legal deadline and make reasonable efforts to comply as required by law.
Retention of personal information
We keep personal information only as long as necessary to provide requested services, products or information, or as permitted by law.
Servers outside your country
We are a U.S. company and the site is intended for a U.S. audience. Data may be stored on servers outside your country, where protections may be weaker. We will follow this policy regardless of storage location, and by using the site from outside the U.S. you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
